其實這不是個關於愛情和婚姻的故事，這是導演通過愛情和婚姻的素材去呈現龐大生活的故事，劇中所有的台詞都在試圖回答生活到底是什麽。拉條子換上馬福禮的身份，又在電影中尋找生活的答案。而生活到底是什麽呢？第十一回目就是這部電影給出的答案：不管你是為誰活，為什麽活，總得活著不是嗎？活到死，熬到死。電影以章回體形式講述，與《姐姐詞典》以詞條方式去呈現姐姐的一生倒有了異曲同工之妙，也更加深了戲劇化的荒謬感。黑色幽默用得恰到好處不稀奇，稀奇的是演員演得恰到好處，同場觀眾此起彼伏的笑聲令我慶幸我不是場子裏唯一一個喜歡這部電影的觀眾。

Somewhat ironic that a film titled 20th century women is a teenage boy’s coming-of-age story with special emphases on punk and sexuality, but almost all the more sincere because we see a masculinity constructed through his relationship with three incredibly unique and powerful women.
